PHOOL MAKHANA 100g
€5,50
Phool Makhana 100g is plain fox nuts, light and ready to roast in ghee. Same-day delivery across the Utrecht region.
Description
Phool Makhana 100g is fox nuts, the puffed seed of the water lily, sold plain and unroasted. They are astonishingly light, so a hundred grams is a much bigger bag than the number suggests.
Roast them in a spoon of ghee until they crisp, salt them, and they are a snack. Simmered in milk they turn into makhana kheer, and they are one of the few things allowed on most vrat days, which is why they sell hardest at Navratri.
For the nearest alternative try the 500 gram makhana pack, and more fasting foods here lists everything else. Vegetarian. Store in an airtight container in a dry cupboard, as makhana goes soft the moment it meets air. Order online at Panjab Supermarket for same-day delivery across Nieuwegein, Utrecht, Leidsche Rijn, Vleuten, Maarssen, Zeist, Bunnik, IJsselstein, Vianen, and Culemborg. Free delivery on orders over 49 euros.
