Nawab Kamarkas 100G is kamarkas, the resin of the palash tree, sold as small dark red granules. It is a different gum from gond, both in colour and in how it behaves in the pan.

Kamarkas is a north Indian winter ingredient, used alongside gond in the laddus and the katlu made in the cold months and traditionally given to new mothers. A little goes a long way, so a hundred grams lasts.
