Mumtaz Tamarind Seedless is cleaned, deseeded imli pressed into a dense 454 gram block. Block tamarind gives a fresher, fruitier sourness than concentrate, and the seedless cut means no fishing before you strain.
Soak a lime-sized piece in warm water, squeeze, and strain the pulp into sambar, rasam and kuzhambu, or cook it down with dates and jaggery into the imli chutney every chaat needs. It reaches happily into Thai and Mexican pots too.
