KRG Soya Flour 1 KG
Description
KRG Soya Flour 1 KG is milled soya bean, pale yellow and finer than wheat atta. It carries far more protein than any other flour on this shelf, and a much stronger taste to go with it.
The normal use is a supplement rather than a base. One or two tablespoons per kilo of atta lifts the protein in a household’s daily rotis without changing how they taste or behave. Push it much beyond a tenth of the flour and both the taste and the texture start to announce themselves.
How much soya flour can I add to atta? Start at one or two tablespoons per kilo of atta. Up to about ten per cent by weight is fine. Beyond that the rotis go dense and the beany taste comes through.
Can I make a roti from soya flour alone? No. It has no gluten and a very strong flavour, and the result would be neither pliable nor pleasant. It is a flour to blend, not a flour to build on.
Another flour usually blended rather than used alone, Heera barley flour, works the same way, and the rest of the flours in stock carry the wheat attas and multigrain blends. Vegetarian. Store it in a cool, dry place in a sealed container, because flour takes up damp and picks up the smell of whatever sits beside it.
