Kamal Thread Mishri 400G is rock sugar crystallised along lengths of cotton thread, which is where the name comes from and why the crystals arrive in long spikes rather than loose grains.
Mishri is traditionally offered after a meal and it is a fixture of temple prasad, handed out with a few fennel seeds. It is less sharply sweet than white sugar and dissolves slowly, so it is meant to be held in the mouth.
