Sweet Tamarind 400 GR is the dessert variety of tamarind, grown to be eaten from the pod rather than cooked into a curry. The flesh is soft and sticky with a date-like sweetness and only a faint trace of the usual sourness.
Sweet tamarind is sold as fruit across Thailand and southern India and eaten exactly as it comes, by cracking the brittle shell and pulling the flesh off the seed. It is not a substitute for cooking tamarind, which is a different thing entirely.
