Pachranga Gulkand 400 GR is rose petal preserve, made by layering fresh petals with sugar and leaving them to break down slowly rather than cooking them. The petals stay recognisable in the jar and the syrup turns deep pink.
Gulkand goes into paan, it is stirred into cold milk in summer, and it is spread on a chapati for children who will not eat anything else. A spoon of it is also the traditional end to a heavy meal in Punjab.
