FROOTI PET 1 LITRE
Description
A litre bottle is a household purchase rather than a personal one, and mango drink is one of the few soft drinks that genuinely earns a place in the fridge door of an Indian kitchen. It gets poured for guests, mixed into a lassi, poured over ice cream, and drunk straight by whoever gets to it first.
Serve it cold and undiluted. It is thick enough to work as the base of a mango lassi if you blend it with yoghurt and a little cardamom, and it makes a decent kulfi if you freeze it with cream, though both use rather more of the bottle than you expect. Once opened, keep it in the fridge and finish it within a couple of days.
Can I use it to make lassi? Yes. Blend it roughly two parts drink to one part thick yoghurt, with a pinch of cardamom. It is sweeter than a lassi made from raw pulp, so no extra sugar is needed.
How long does it keep once opened? Two to three days in the fridge with the cap on. It does not spoil quickly but the pulp separates and the taste flattens.
A smaller bottle for one or two people is the 600 ml bottle, and the rest of the fridge shelf holds the sodas and juices. Vegetarian. Keep it somewhere cool, chill it before serving, and finish an opened bottle the same day while the fizz holds.
