General Conditions - Panjab Supermarket

These general conditions apply to all orders placed through our online shop at panjabsupermarket.com and to purchases made at our physical store at Muntplein 10, 3437 AN Nieuwegein, Netherlands.

By placing an order, you agree to these conditions.

2. Applicability

These general conditions apply to every offer made by Panjab Supermarket and to every agreement concluded between Panjab Supermarket and a customer.

Before placing an order, you can download or save these conditions.

If you have questions, contact us directly through our contact page before ordering.

These conditions may be updated from time to time.

The version published on this page at the time of your order applies to that order.

3. Our Products and Offers

Panjab Supermarket offers Indian, Pakistani, and Surinamese-Hindustani groceries through our online shop and physical store.

Our online range includes over 2,700 products across more than 30 categories, including spices and masala, rice, lentils, frozen foods, fresh dairy, snacks, and household items.

All offers and prices on our website are subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse or limit an order if a product is out of stock.

In such cases, we will contact you as soon as possible. Product images on the website are for illustration purposes; packaging may vary.

4. Prices

All prices shown on the website are in euros (€) and include Dutch VAT (BTW) at the applicable rate.

Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout and are not included in the product price.

Prices are subject to change.

The price that applies to your order is the price shown at the time you place that order.

If a pricing error occurs, we will contact you before processing the order.

5. Orders and Agreement

An order is placed when you complete the checkout process on our website and receive an order confirmation by email.

This confirmation constitutes acceptance of your order and forms the agreement between you and Panjab Supermarket.

We reserve the right to decline orders at our discretion, for example, in cases of suspected fraud, incorrect pricing, or inability to fulfill delivery to your address.

If we are unable to fulfill your order, you will receive a full refund.

6. Payment

We accept the following payment methods for online orders:

  • iDEAL
  • Credit card (Visa, Mastercard)
  • Debit card

For in-store purchases, we also accept cash. All online payments are processed securely through Mollie, our payment provider.

Panjab Supermarket does not store your full card details.

Payment must be completed at the time of ordering.

We do not offer payment on delivery.

7. Delivery

We offer same-day delivery to addresses within our delivery zone in the Utrecht region.

Key delivery terms:

  • Delivery cost: €2.49 per order
  • Free delivery: Orders over €49
  • Delivery method: Same-day from our store in Nieuwegein
  • Delivery zone: Utrecht, Nieuwegein, Houten, IJsselstein, Zeist, De Bilt, Vianen, Maarssen, Bunnik, and Bilthoven

Delivery times are estimates. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our control, such as traffic, severe weather, or force majeure events.

If a delivery cannot be completed because you are not available to receive it, we will contact you by phone to arrange an alternative.

8. No Returns. No Exchanges.

Because we sell food and grocery products, we do not accept returns or exchanges on any items, whether perishable or non-perishable.

This is for hygiene and food safety reasons.

9. Damaged, Incorrect, or Missing Items

If your order arrives with a damaged product, an expired product, an incorrect item, or a missing item, you must report this to us within 24 hours of delivery.

Reports made after 24 hours cannot be processed.

To report an issue, contact us at +31 6 20009192 or through our online contact form for order issues and delivery complaints.

Please have your order number, a photo of the issue, and a brief description ready.

You do not need to return damaged or incorrect food items. Please dispose of them safely after submitting your report.

10. Refunds

Refunds are only issued in cases of damaged, expired, incorrect, or missing items as described in Section 9.

In all other cases, no refund will be issued.

Approved refunds are processed within 5 working days to your original payment method: iDEAL, credit card, or debit card.

You will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated.

If you have not received your refund after 5 working days, contact us at +31 6 20009192.

11. Order Cancellations

You can cancel an order as long as it has not yet been packed for delivery. To cancel, call us immediately at +31 6 20009192.

Once an order has been packed, cancellation is no longer possible, and standard delivery charges apply.

12. Right of Withdrawal (Herroepingsrecht)

Under Dutch consumer law (Wet Koop op Afstand), customers generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases.

However, this right does not apply to food and grocery products, as these fall under the exemption for perishable goods and goods that may deteriorate or expire rapidly (Article 6:230p sub e Burgerlijk Wetboek).

Because the majority of our product range consists of food items, the right of withdrawal does not apply to orders placed at Panjab Supermarket.

This is standard practice for online grocery retailers operating under Dutch law.

13. Complaints

If you have a complaint about your order, our products, or our service, we ask you to contact us first so we can resolve it together.

We aim to respond to all complaints within 2 business days.

If we are unable to resolve your complaint directly, you have the right to submit it to the Dutch Consumer and Markets Authority (Autoriteit Consument en Markt) or use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14. Liability

Panjab Supermarket is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or website, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct on our part.

Our liability is in all cases limited to the value of the order in question.

We are not responsible for allergic reactions or health issues arising from incorrect use, storage, or preparation of products.

Customers with dietary requirements, allergies, or medical conditions should check product labels carefully before purchasing.

15. Intellectual Property

All content on panjabsupermarket.com, including text, product descriptions, images, logos, and layout, is the property of Panjab Supermarket or its content suppliers and is protected by Dutch and European intellectual property law.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website without prior written permission.

16. Privacy

Panjab Supermarket processes personal data in accordance with the GDPR and the Dutch AVG.

17. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These general conditions and all agreements between Panjab Supermarket and its customers are governed exclusively by Dutch law.

Any disputes that cannot be resolved through direct contact or the complaints procedure will be submitted to the competent court in the district of Midden-Nederland, unless mandatory consumer law provisions require otherwise.
